Indiana Pacers shock New York Knicks, advance to Eastern Conference Finals | Locked On Pacers
A scorching hot first half led the Indiana Pacers to a stunning road victory in Game 7 over the New York Knicks.
The New York Knicks were ran out of their own gym in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, losing 130-109 to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.
The Pacers shot a blistering hot 67.1% from the field – the highest field goal percentage for a playoff game in NBA history. To do it on the road at Madison Square Garden is nearly unbelievable, and sent Locked On Pacers host Tony East into a frenzy postgame.
“The Pacers tore them to smithereens,” East exclaimed. “An unbelievable offensive night for the Pacers, who could not miss. Everyone was making everything, they were generating good shots, their energy was infectious, they survived the garden crowd, they looked incredible, they played their way, they get their first road win of the series and they are headed to the Eastern Conference Finals to take on the Boston Celtics.”

All five Indiana starters scored between 17 and 26 points, with superstar Tyrese Haliburton leading the charge. The starting five shot 13-22 from three (59.1%) and every starter was over 50% from the field. Aaron Nesmith was a perfect 8-8, while Andrew Nembhard was 8-10 and Myles Turner was 7-11.
“Well, we’re the uninvited guest,” coach Rick Carlisle said after the game. “Here we are. When you win a Game 7 in Madison Square Garden, you’ve made history. It’s very, very difficult to do.”
Indiana has now won consecutive series as the lower seed, continuing an underdog narrative as they head into the ECF against the No. 1 seed in the East, the Boston Celtics.
Game 1 will take place in Boston on Tuesday, May 21 at 8:00 PM ET.
