Boston wins Game 1 after late game collapse from Indiana | Locked On Celtics
A Jaylen Brown three pointer sent this game into overtime where the Boston Celtics were able to rally for a Game 1 victory at home.
The Indiana Pacers had a golden opportunity to steal the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals from the top seeded Boston Celtics, on the road no less, but a game-tying three pointer from Jaylen Brown with 6.1 seconds left forced overtime, where Jayson Tatum took over and led the Celtics to a Game 1 victory.
“I’m still very wired from this game,” Locked On Celtics host John Karalis said on his postgame episode, which he recorded at nearly 4:30 AM ET. “The Celtics had this game lost, and the hot takes were boiling…[it looked like] there was no way the Celtics were going to pull this out, and then they did.”

Tatum finished with 36 points, including 10 in overtime, to lead Boston despite an ugly 2-8 night from three. Brown had 26, along with seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals, and his shot at the end of regulation was a crushing blow for a Pacers team that made multiple mistakes down the stretch.
“I think it’s more on us,” Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton said after the game. “I just felt like more of them were probably on us than them forcing turnovers.”
Indiana will get a day to regroup before Game 2, which will be in Boston on Thursday, May 23 at 8:00 PM ET.
