Born in raised in the Bay Area, I have always been a Raiders fan and would get so frustrated because I never thought the Raiders would get enough coverage to keep me informed on my favorite team. As I continued to grow and getting over in the Radio business, I would talk all the time about the Raiders on the Hip Hop station I worked for, Q97 in Fresno and my Program Director would get angry because “we are a music station, not sports” – Fast forward to 2010, I moved to Central Texas, for a job opportunity on another music station, that did not work out and luckily before I moved back to Cali, a station in town wanted to hire me and they had an ESPN affiliate in the building as well, so part of my agreement to cross the street is is that I could work for ESPN as well if the opportunity presented itself.
In 2012 the opportunity presented itself and I began working for ESPN Central Texas, and learned a lot about Sports talk and how to cover a team fair and objectively. Late in 2015 I met a guy on Twitter that wanted to start a Raiders podcast, and being the Raiders fan that I was and knowing there was not enough coverage of that team, I agreed to do the show with him, and we called it Blackhole Banter. We did that show weekly through the entire 2016 season which was an amazing season for the Raiders until X-mas Eve when Derek Carr broke his ankle and the Raiders chances of making a deep playoff run broke too.
We continued that show through the 2017 season when I was approached by David Locke about any interest in hosting Locked On Raiders Podcast. I wasn’t sure what to expect or what I was going to do, but I felt it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up for multiple reasons. I started doing the show, It grew and my name with Raider Nation grew. Fast forward to present day, I live in Vegas, I’m the Program Director of the Las Vegas Sports Network, do a daily local show, work with the Raiders on the regular, have a National show on ESPN called Game Night from 10pm-1am ET/7pm-10pm PT and it really all started to take shape because of the call from David Locke, the opportunity as a part of the Locked On Podcast Network and the support from Raider Nation.
