Eddie Garcia
Locked On Kings host Eddie Garcia is passionate about sports, in particular hockey and the LA Kings. Being born in Hawaii and raised in California, he chose hockey, it did not choose him. The town he grew up in didn’t have an ice rink and Eddie didn’t attend a hockey game until college. Once he finally embraced hockey, he quickly realized it had all the best things he loved about the “other’ sports. The physical play and toughness of football, the hand-eye coordination and skill of baseball and the offense to defense, back and forth tempo of basketball. He was hooked for life. While he played all sports growing up, he started playing ice hockey as an adult and has played twice a week for the past 20 years. Eddie has always loved the camaraderie of being on a team.
He’s spent the last 20+ years as a co-host and news reporter for the Fox Sports Radio Network where he’s known as the “hockey guy”. Eddie has covered the LA Kings as a credentialed member of the media for the past 20 years and was lucky enough to be part of their radio coverage for their two Stanley Cup titles. He have also been a national NHL correspondent for the Fox Sports Radio Network for our over 200 affiliates.
While his favorite sports are hockey and football (his alma mater Fresno State and the Pittsburgh Steelers), he’s always loved the idea of all sports bringing people together. If you are a fan of his teams you are his brother or sister and can cheer and talk about shared passions despite whatever difference you may have. Even if you may root for opposing teams hopefully that love of sports results in fun and healthy debates which seems more and more important in today’s climate. Eddie hopes that what he does in his jobs as a lover of sports helps bring people together. Listen to Eddie daily on the Locked On Podcast Network. Your Team. Every day.
