Kalia Butler

Kalia Butler is a dynamic sports broadcaster and media professional, currently serving as a sideline reporter for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky and host of Locked on Women’s Basketball. A proud Chicago native, Kalia brings an authentic voice and deep community connection to her coverage of Chicago sports.

She holds a Master’s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a specialization in Sports Media from the prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Her storytelling, on-air presence, and insight into the game reflect both her academic foundation and lived experience in sports journalism.

In addition to her work with the Chicago Sky, Kalia is the host of “Sky UnGuarded” on WCIU, a community-centered show that highlights the impact and outreach of the Sky organization throughout the city. She also serves as a color analyst for UIC Women’s Basketball and is a sideline reporter for WCIU’s high school sports broadcasts, showcasing local talent and elevating the voices of young athletes.
