2024 NFL schedule release: Highlighting the best matchups and key debuts | Locked On NFL
The 2024 NFL schedule has officially been released, what are the best matchups and games to keep an eye on?
The 2024 NFL regular season schedule was released on Wednesday evening, giving football fans the first opportunity to see exactly when their team will hit the field against key rivals this fall.
Locked On NFL hosts Tyler Rowland and Alex Clancy went live after the reveal to discuss their favorite matchups, which games made it to primetime, and how rookie quarterbacks like Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels might fare early in their careers.
There was one team in particular both Rowland and Clancy felt deserved a little more love in primetime.
“The Carolina Panthers didn’t get a single primetime game,” Rowland said. “I understand teams you can’t count on being competitive, but to have that disparity between them and teams like the Saints, teams like the Jets…some of those things really stood out to me.”

Below is a look at five of the most notable regular season matchups, including a rematch of last year’s epic Super Bowl:
- Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers (Week 7)
- New York Jets at San Francisco 49ers (Week 1)
- Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles (Week 1 – in Sao Paulo, Brazil)
- Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders (Week 8)
- Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys (Week 6)
Of course, as rookies get more comfortable and teams start to gel we will see other matchups take center stage in the latter half of the season.
For now the most important game is the first one, which is slated for Thursday, September 5 between the Chiefs and Ravens. Kickoff will be at 8:20 PM ET.
